Lauren Clements Named CCC Softball Player of the Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Junior Lauren Clements (Garrison, Texas) of the Eastern Nazarene College softball team garnered her first career Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week accolade, announced the league office Monday.
Clements racked up 12 base hits to help the Lions post a 6-2 record on the week, including a pair of home runs. She drove in eight RBIs and scored three runs in the eight-game stretch.
She notched two hits, including one homer, in each of Eastern Nazarene's victories at Brandeis. Clements also collected four RBIs in the non-conference doubleheader.
Clements posted a pair of base knocks in game one of a twinbill against Western New England before raking three hits and tallying three RBIs in game two.
She finished with one hit, one RBI, and one run scored as the Lions split a doubleheader with the University of New England.
Clements capped off the week with two hits and two walks as Eastern Nazarene halved a twinbill against Roger Williams.
Clements paces the squad with 35 RBIs and seven home runs while also notching 43 base hits and scoring 12 runs. She owns a batting average of .426 to go with a slugging-percentage of .693 on the spring.
The Lions sport a 24-10 overall record and finished the regular season with a 13-5 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Eastern Nazarene earned a top-two seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament for the first time in program history and will host first-round action April 28.
