Breana Corell Becomes Softball’s First Class of 2018 Member
QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene softball head coach Stephanie Gillett has announced the addition of Breana Corell to the program's incoming class.
Corell is a pitcher and second baseman hailing from Castle Rock, Colo., where she currently attends Douglas County High School.
Last season, she earned all-state and all-league first team honors while helping the Huskies capture the Region 1 title. Corell was also a member of the Huskies squad that claimed the Region 7 championship in 2012.
This spring Corell has played a key role in guiding Douglas County to a 20-3 record. The Huskies have climbed to #23 in the national rankings and to #5 in Colorado this season.
Corell owns a 14-2 record in the pitcher's circle this spring and has tossed 118.2 innings in 22 appearances. She leads the Huskies' pitching staff with 65 strikeouts and five complete games.
"Breana will prove to be a competitor for us in the circle, as well as up to bat. She is a versatile addition to this program and will fill some gaps from the very beginning. I look forward to coaching her and helping her become a contributor in our program and on campus," said Gillett.
"I am excited about the new experience of being a student-athlete at Eastern Nazarene. I am grateful for the opportunity to play the sport that I love at the collegiate level and I am proud to be an ENC Lion. I spent the first 10 years of my life on the west coast so I am looking forward to being close to the ocean again. I can't wait to explore and enjoy everything that Boston and New England have to offer," said Corell.
Corell also plays softball at the club level for Express Fastpitch.
