Cross Country Teams Compete at Westfield State Invitational Saturday
WESTFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College cross country teams participated in the James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State University Saturday.
The Lions' men's cross country squad grabbed 27th in the team standings, edging out Lasell and Mitchell.
Robert Gorman (Ellington, Conn.) posted a time of 31:56.2 to pace the team. Kevin Rodrigues (Dorchester, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 33.17.0.
Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) recorded a mark of 33:47.4 in his first race of the season while Seth Folk (Hollywood, Md.) and Joseph Merrigan (Quincy, Mass.) also ran for the Lions at the meet.
On the women's side, Rodelina Kingsley (Lawrence, Mass.) was the only representative from Eastern Nazarene. The rookie placed 52nd with a time of 20:18.3.
Smith College captured the women's team title while Christine Myers from the College of Saint Rose bested the field with a time of 18:12.0.
Trinity College claimed the men's team crown and Plymouth State's Sam Brunnette placed first individually with a mark of 25:08.6
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will race at the Suffolk Invitational October 12 at Franklin Park.
