Men’s Cross Country Places 10th at Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational
WENHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's cross country team earned a 10th-place finish at the 45th annual Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Lions finished ahead of Pine Manor with a team score of 280.
Greg Whitney (Henniker, N.H.) paced Eastern Nazarene with a time of 29:38 to claim 28th place overall.
Josh Rice (Hanson, Mass.) finished his first collegiate race with a mark of 32:45 while Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.) crossed the finish line in 34:52.
Yahalel Carter (Chicago, Ill.), Brandon Russ (Warren, Pa.) and Javon Winfield (Baltimore, Md.) also competed for the Lions.
Gordon's Damon Kilgore bested the 106-runner field with a time of 24:39 to capture the individual title. The University of New England took home the team crown after placing four runners in the top-10.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete in the Massachusetts Maritime Invitational October 1.
