Men’s Cross Country Races at UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's cross country team kicked off the 2016 campaign at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday afternoon, placing 32nd out of 33 teams. The Lions finished ahead of Lesley in the team standings.
Senior Greg Whitney (Henniker, N.H.) paved the way for the Lions with a mark of 29:12.49.
Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.) finished with a time of 35:05.89. Andrew Jayne (Quincy, Mass.) posted a mark of 35:06.46 in his first race.
Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) and Brandon Russ (Warren, Pa.) also represented Eastern Nazarene.
American International captured the team title led by individual champion Mitchell Byrne with a time of 24:50.51.
A total of 242 runners from 33 institutions tackled the 8K course.
Up next, the Lions will compete at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational September 24.
