Men’s Cross Country Grabs Ninth Place at Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational
WENHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's cross country team raced to a ninth-place finish at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational Saturday.
Greg Whitney (Henniker, N.H.) paced the Lions with a time of 31:02 on the eight-kilometer course. Anthony Petrilli (Woodland Hills, Calif.) crossed the finish line in 33:31 in his first race of the season.
Jean Baillargeon (Huntington, Mass.) clocked in at 34:05 while Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.) posted a mark of 35:02 and Walker Norton (South Gardiner, Maine) finished in 35:52.
Doug Desautell (North Attleboro, Mass.), Josh Eisenberg (Millville, N.J.), Brandon Russ (Warren, Pa.) and Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) also competed for Eastern Nazarene.
Gordon College's Damon Kilgore bested the field with a time of 25:50 to capture the individual title. The University of New England took home the team crown after placing seven runners in the top 20.
A total of 104 runners from 13 institutions tackled the terrain on Saturday.
Up next, the Lions will return to action October 10 at the Westfield State Invitational.
