Men’s Cross Country Kicks Off Season at Mass. Maritime Invitational Saturday
BUZZARD'S BAY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's cross country team opened the 2015 season with a fourth-place finish at the 11th Annual Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational hosted by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Saturday.
Junior Greg Whitney (Henniker, N.H.) paced the Lions with a time of 31:38 to claim eighth-place.
Jean Baillargeon (Huntington, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 34:23 to place 18th while Christian Lynch (Alpharetta, Ga.) clocked in with a mark of 37:26 in his first collegiate race.
Josh Eisenberg (Millville, N.J.), Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.), Brandon Russ (Warren, Pa.) and Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) also competed for Eastern Nazarene.
The host Buccaneers captured the team title with five runners finishing in the top 10, including individual champion Robby Galvin.
A total of 45 racers representing four teams competed at the meet.
Up next, the Lions will participate in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational September 19.
