Men’s Cross Country Places Fifth at Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene men's cross country team kicked off the 2014 season at the 10th annual Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational hosted by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Saturday.
The Lions captured fifth place, edging out Newbury while coming up just behind Mount Ida and Suffolk. The host Buccaneers claimed the team title after garnering the top four finishers.
Gregory Whitney (Henniker, N.H.) paced Eastern Nazarene with a time of 30:33 to earn eighth place overall. Hunter Hill (North Wales, Pa.) clocked in with a mark of 32:27, good for 14th place.
Carlos Barranco (Haverhill, Mass.), Dan Cantrell (Strasburg, Va.), Josh Eisenberg (Millville, N.J.), Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) and Joseph Viera (Quincy, Mass.) also competed for the Lions in the five-mile race.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will participate in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational September 20.
