Men’s Volleyball Tripped Up at Rivier, 3-1
NASHUA, N.H. – The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback at Rivier Tuesday evening.
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 1, Rivier 3
Records: Lions (12-6) | Raiders (10-10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rivier triumphed 25-20 in the opening set to snag a 1-0 lead.
- Eastern Nazarene battled back to claim the second frame 25-23 to level the match at 1-1.
- The Raiders regained a one-set advantage with a 25-21 win in the third.
- Rivier locked up its third all-time victory over the Lions with a 25-17 decision in the fourth set.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) racked up a match-best 21 kills to go with four digs and two aces.
- Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) added six kills while Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) and Jacob Lotts (Mission Viejo, Calif.) each tallied five kills.
- Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) dished out 27 assists.
- Nathan Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) finished with a career-high 13 digs.
- Sokunbuth Ly paced Rivier with 12 kills and 12 digs while Isaac Borges chipped in with 10 kills.
