Men’s Volleyball Suffers 3-1 Setback to Nichols
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team absorbed a 3-1 loss to league-leading Nichols Friday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 1, Nichols 3
Records: Lions (11-9, 2-1 NECC) | Bison (16-5, 4-0 NECC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Nichols jumped out to a1-0 lead in the match with a 25-20 win in the first frame.
- Eastern Nazarene bounced back to triumph 25-18 in the second set to level the match at 1-1.
- The Bison reclaimed a one-set edge, 2-1, after prevailing 25-16 in the third.
- Nichols rolled to a 25-12 decision in the fourth frame to secure its fourth-straight conference victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
- Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) also registered 10 kills while Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) added five kills and five digs and Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakdale, Conn.) tallied five kills.
- Nathan Jacques (Casselberry, Fla.) dished out 25 assists to go with six digs and two service aces.
- Brandon Brown (Oxford, Pa.) collected 10 digs on the night.
- Luis Martinez paced the visitors with 14 kills while Carlos Mercado notched 11 kills and Dylan Urbanski finished with 38 assists, seven blocks, and six digs.
