Men’s Volleyball Opens NECC Play with 3-1 Victory at SUNY Poly
UTICA, N.Y.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team triumphed 3-1 at SUNY Poly Friday evening in the first New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match of the year.
THE BASICS:

Records: Lions (10-8, 1-0 NECC) | Wildcats (4-11, 0-1 NECC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene prevailed 25-16 in the opening frame to secure a 1-0 lead.
- SUNY Poly notched a 25-22 win in the second set to level the match at 1-1.
- The visitors rebounded to claim the third 26-24 to regain a one-set advantage, 2-1.
- The Lions locked up their first league win of the season with a 25-23 decision in the fourth set.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) racked up a team-high 14 kills to go with four digs and four service aces.
- Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) tallied 10 kills and four digs on the night.
- Ian Pacheco (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) posted six kills while Brandon Brown (Oxford, Pa.) collected 13 digs.
- Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) dished out 19 assists and Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) registered 15 assists.
- Kohei Clark finished with a match-best 16 kills for the Wildcats while Jason Aubrey added nine kills and Nathan Farnham recorded 33 assists.
