Men’s Volleyball Outlasts Emerson in Five Sets

BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team collected a thrilling 3-2 victory at Emerson Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson claimed the first set 25-20 to seize a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Eastern Nazarene responded with a 25-22 win in the second frame to level the contest at 1-1.
- The home side regained a one-set advantage, 2-1, after prevailing 28-26 in the third.
- The visitors triumphed 25-20 in the fourth set to force a winner-take-all fifth frame.
- Eastern Nazarene clinched its second victory of the season over Emerson with a 15-11 decision in the fifth.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) racked up a match-high 21 kills to go with four digs.
- Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) notched 19 kills, five digs, and two service aces.
- Nathan Jacques (Casselberry, Fla.) finished with a career-best 45 assists and 16 digs.
- Fernando Paredes (Passaic, N.J.) collected 21 digs to lead the defensive effort.
- Aaron Huang (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 10 assists while Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with six kills.
- Luke Roehm paced Emerson with 17 kills while Neika Pittman added 16 kills and Bayden Slavik dished out 36 assists.
