Men’s Volleyball Falters at Regis, 3-1
WESTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team absorbed a 3-1 loss at Regis Saturday afternoon in the second meeting between the two teams this season.
The Lions move to 8-7 on the year with the setback while the Pride improves to 4-10 overall with the win.
Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) notched a match-high 19 kills while adding seven digs. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) posted eight kills, five digs, and five total blocks. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) finished with 28 assists and a season-high 17 digs. Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) registered 16 digs while Riley Miller (Newington, Conn.) chipped in with eight digs.
The visitors cruised to a 25-14 win in the opening set to grasp a 1-0 advantage.
The home team responded with a 25-17 victory in the second frame to knot the match at 1-1.
Regis snagged a one-set edge after edging Eastern Nazarene 25-22 in the third.
The Pride prevailed 26-24 in the fourth set to clinch its fourth win of the season.
Fernando Gomez paced Regis with 14 kills while Inelson Alves and Gueincy Clodomir each recorded 10 kills on the day.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene travels to Dean February 24 in the first New England Collegiate Conference match of the year.
