Men’s Volleyball Prevails at Colby-Sawyer, 3-1
NEW LONDON, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team claimed a 3-1 victory at Colby-Sawyer Tuesday evening.
The Lions improve to 7-3 on the year with their fourth-straight win while the Chargers fall to 6-4 overall with the result.
Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) racked up a match-high 21 kills to go with 11 digs and four total blocks. Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakdale, Conn.) notched 10 kills while Nicholas Thibeau (Spencerport, N.Y.) posted 10 kills and three blocks. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) finished with 48 assists and 15 digs. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 digs and eight kills. Defensively, Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) collected 14 digs and Riley Miller (Newington, Conn.) registered 13 digs.
The visitors grabbed a 1-0 edge after triumphing 25-21 in the opening set.
Eastern Nazarene widened the gap to 2-0 with a 25-18 victory in the second frame.
The home side cut the deficit to 2-1 after capturing the third game 25-19.
The Lions secured their second win over the Chargers this season with a 25-19 decision in the fourth set.
Orlando Plagata paced Colby-Sawyer with 15 kills and 22 digs while Eric Miller posted 14 kills and AJ Gnieski recorded 36 assists with 10 digs.
