Men’s Volleyball Collects 3-1 Win Over Colby-Sawyer in Home-Opener
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team captured a 3-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer Thursday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center in the first home match of the 2020 season.
The Lions improve to 3-2 on the year with the win while the Chargers slip to 2-3 overall.
Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) racked up a match-high 20 kills on the night. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) posted 18 kills and nine digs. Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakdale, Conn.) finished with seven kills and six total blocks. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) dished out 39 assists and added nine digs. Riley Miller (Newington, Conn.) registered a career-best 11 digs and dealt four service aces while Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) paced the squad with 13 digs.
The guests eked out a 25-23 victory in the opening set to claim an early 1-0 lead.
The home side battled back to notch a 25-14 win in the second frame to level the match at 1-1.
Eastern Nazarene seized a 2-1 edge with a hard-fought 28-26 decision in the third.
The Lions rolled past Colby-Sawyer 25-13 in the fourth to secure their third victory of the season.
Orlando Plagata led the Chargers with 19 kills and 12 digs while Eric Miller tallied 11 kills and AJ Gnieski chalked up 34 assists.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will host Lasell January 28.
