Men’s Volleyball Storms Past Newbury 3-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team rattled off a 3-0 victory over Newbury Thursday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions elevate to 11-12 on the season and 6-4 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the win. The Nighthawks dive to 6-14 overall and 5-5 in league competition with the outcome.
James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) posted a team-high eight kills and added three blocks. Arthur Kossoski (Malden, Mass.) notched seven kills and eight digs. Brock Pease (Marshfield, Mass.) registered 10 digs and five kills. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) finished with 24 assists and 10 digs.
The home side established a 1-0 edge after capturing the opening frame 25-13.
Eastern Nazarene widened the margin to 2-0 with a 25-19 decision in the second set.
The Lions topped the Nighthawks 25-17 in the third to clinch their third victory in a row.
Pedro Juan De Jesus paced Newbury with six kills and 13 digs while Jeremias Soto chipped in with 14 digs and 12 assists.
