NASHUA, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team suffered a pair of 3-0 setbacks to John Jay and Rivier Saturday afternoon at Muldoon Gymnasium on the campus of Rivier University.
The Lions slip to 5-7 on the year with the results. The Bulldogs move to 5-6 overall while the Raiders improve to 6-4 on the season.
Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) racked up a team-high nine kills on the day while Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) notched eight kills and seven digs. Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) finished with 29 assists and 10 digs. Sunil Lepcha (Charlotte, N.C.) posted 17 digs on the afternoon.
Eastern Nazarene began the afternoon with a 3-0 loss to John Jay in the second meeting between the two teams this season.
The Bulldogs grabbed a 1-0 edge after claiming the first set 25-19. John Jay extended its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-13 win in the second frame.
The Bulldogs edged the Lions 27-25 in the third to cap off the sweep.
Eastern Nazarene closed out the tri-match with a straight-sets setback to Rivier.
The hosts captured the first set 25-14 to seize a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Raiders doubled their advantage with a 25-15 decision in the second game.
Rivier rolled to a 25-13 win in the third to seal its sixth victory in a row.
