Men’s Volleyball Blanked at Emerson Thursday
BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback at Emerson Thursday evening.
Eastern Nazarene drops to 2-4 on the year while Emerson improves to 4-1 overall with the result.
James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) posted a team-high four kills to go with a pair of blocks. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) finished with three kills and eight digs. Arthur Kossoski (Malden, Mass.) notched three kills, four aces, and four digs on the night. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) recorded 12 assists and five digs.
The home team constructed a 1-0 lead after claiming the opening set 25-16.
Emerson cruised to a 25-7 win in the second frame to double its advantage to 2-0 in the match.
The hosts capped off the sweep with a narrow 25-22 decision in the third.
Mark Piorkowski paced Emerson with 11 kills and eight digs on the night.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns home February 9 to host Emmanuel and York (N.Y.) in a non-conference tri-match.
