Men’s Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Lasell in Home-Opener
QUINCY, Mass.- In the first home match of the 2019 campaign, the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team absorbed a 3-0 loss to Lasell Thursday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions slip to 2-3 on the year with the result while the Lasers improve to 2-2 overall.
Arthur Kossoski (Malden, Mass.) paced the home side with seven kills and six digs on the night. James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) posted five kills and four blocks. James Garofalo (Commack, N.Y.) registered five kills and five digs while Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) notched four kills and four blocks. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) collected 20 assists in the match to go with four digs.
The visitors established a 1-0 advantage after claiming the opening set 25-13.
After Eastern Nazarene clawed back to level the second frame at 10-10, Lasell finished off the game with a 15-4 run to earn a 25-14 win.
The Lasers prevailed 25-21 in the third to clinch the sweep.
Jordan Aprea led Lasell's balanced offense with five kills while Aaron Waitekus tallied four kills.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene heads to Beantown to battle Emerson February 7.
