CHICOPEE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team absorbed a 3-0 loss at Elms Thursday evening in the New England Collegiate Conference semifinals.
The Lions finish the season with a 14-12 overall record while the Blazers improve to 19-6 on the year and advances to the NECC Championship for the second-straight year.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) tallied eight kills and five digs on the night. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) notched four kills while James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) added one kill and four blocks. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) registered nine assists, five digs, and three blocks.
The home team established a 1-0 lead with a 25-13 opening-set victory.
Elms triumphed 25-15 in the second frame to expand its advantage to 2-0.
The Blazers wrapped up the win with a 25-14 decision in the third.
Jovanny Torres paced Elms with 13 kills while Jeremy Torres recorded nine kills and eight digs.
