BROOKLINE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team prevailed 3-0 at Pine Manor in an inter-conference matchup Thursday evening.
The Lions improve to 12-10 on the year with the victory, matching the program-record for most wins in a season. The Gators slide to 2-13 overall with the result.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) smashed 18 kills and added nine digs on the night. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills while James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) added six kills. Andrew Jayne (Quincy, Mass.) recorded a career-high 14 digs and Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) racked up 39 assists.
The visitors captured the first set 25-20 to seize a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene triumphed 25-16 to stretch its advantage to 2-0.
The Lions stormed past the home side 25-10 to secure their third-consecutive win and third victory over Pine Manor this season.
Dion Johnson paced the Gators with five kills while Oscar Estrada finished with 10 digs.
