Men’s Volleyball Picks Up 3-0 Win at Lesley
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Lesley Tuesday evening at the Nicholas Athletic Center on the campus of Buckingham Browne & Nichols.
The Lions improve to 11-10 on the season and 6-4 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the win. The Lynx fall to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in league competition with the result.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) posted eight kills, six aces, and four digs to lead the team. James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) finished with six kills while Andrew Jayne (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with five service aces and five digs. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) registered 16 assists and Sunil Lepcha (Charlotte, N.C.) tallied six digs.
The visitors claimed the first set 25-18 to grab a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene triumphed 25-14 in the second frame to extend its advantage to 2-0.
The Lions rolled to a 25-10 decision in the third to clinch their fifth-consecutive victory over Lesley.
Alexander Genova paced Lesley with three kills and seven digs on the night.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene heads to Pine Manor March 29 for a non-conference match.
