Men’s Volleyball Stymies Southern Vermont, 3-0
BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team breezed by Southern Vermont 3-0 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Lions climb to 10-10 on the season and 5-4 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the victory. The Mountaineers tumble to 0-15 overall and 0-8 in league competition with the outcome.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) notched a team-high 10 kills and nine digs. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) tallied six kills while Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) posted three kills. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with three kills and four blocks. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) recorded 28 assists on the day.
The guests rolled to a 25-12 win in the opening frame to secure a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene earned a 25-14 decision in the second to widen the margin to 2-0.
The Lions triumphed 25-17 in the third set to collect their 10th victory of the year.
El Olivares paced Southern Vermont with nine kills and seven digs while Te Hayward chipped in with seven kills and seven digs.
