Men’s Volleyball Blanked by Conference Frontrunner Endicott
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to league-leading Endicott Thursday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions progress to 9-10 on the year and 4-4 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the setback. The Gulls, who are receiving votes in the AVCA National Coaches' Poll, improve to 16-1 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 7-0.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) posted a team-high six kills in the match and added five digs. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) finished with five kills while Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) chipped in with three kills. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) notched 15 assists and a pair of digs.
The guests jumped ahead 1-0 in the match with a 25-16 win in the first set.
Endicott doubled its advantage with a 25-14 decision in the second frame.
The Gulls prevailed 25-10 in the third to clinch their ninth-straight victory.
Jeremy Doski racked up 10 kills to lead Endicott while Troy Riorden added nine kills on the night.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene treks to the Green Mountain State to square off against Southern Vermont March 24.
