Men’s Volleyball Shuts Out Southern Vermont, 3-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team soared past Southern Vermont 3-0 Wednesday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions climb to 7-7 on the year and 2-2 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the win. The Mountaineers slide to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play with the setback.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) posted 11 kills and five digs to lead the team. Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.) finished with four kills, three digs, and a pair of blocks. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) notched 25 assists while James Hoopes (Lenexa, Kan.) dealt five service aces in the match.
The home side established a 1-0 advantage after capturing the opening set 25-18.
Eastern Nazarene raced out to a 14-0 lead and cruised to a 25-4 victory in the second set to widen its margin to 2-0.
The Lions rattled off a 25-16 win in the third frame to complete the sweep.
El Olivares tallied five kills and Te Hayward chipped in with three kills for the visitors.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene remains at home as it hosts Lesley March 3 in a league tussle.
