BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team absorbed a 3-0 loss at Endicott Friday evening, halting a program-best four-match winning streak.
The Lions move to 6-7 on the season and 1-2 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the setback. The Gulls, receiving votes in the latest AVCA National Poll, improve to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in league competition.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) finished with a team-high six kills and added three digs. Samuel Cueva (Swampscott, Mass.) tallied four kills while Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) notched 15 assists and six digs.
The hosts rolled to a 25-9 win in the first set to nab a 1-0 edge.
Endicott doubled its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-12 decision in the second frame.
The Gulls erased a five-point deficit in the third to prevail 25-19 and clinch their sixth-straight victory.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns home to host Southern Vermont February 28.
