Kenny Sorensen Garners NECC Academic All-Conference Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass.- Junior Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team earned a spot on the Academic All-New England Collegiate Conference list, announced the league office Wednesday.
A biochemistry major, Sorensen was one of 17 men's volleyball players from the conference's seven programs to earn the distinction.
A total of 201 student-athletes were named to the NECC Academic All-Conference team for the winter and spring semesters, marking the largest number of recipients for winter and spring sports.
In order to be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference recognition, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing.
Sorensen collected All-NECC second team honors at the conclusion of the Lions' inaugural season of competition. He paced the team with 225 kills and 203 digs while adding 39 aces, 17 assists, and nine total blocks on the year.
Eastern Nazarene finished with a 12-10 overall record and a 5-7 league mark in its first year of competition.
