Men’s Volleyball Picks Up Road Victory at Pine Manor, 3-1
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- Behind double-double efforts by Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) and Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.), the Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team posted a 3-1 non-conference win at Pine Manor Tuesday evening.
The Lions jump to 10-8 on the season with the victory while the Gators sink to 6-7 overall.
Shaw paced all players with 14 kills while adding 14 digs in the match. Sorensen finished with 15 digs and 12 kills to notch his sixth double-double of the year. Colin Fischer (Lansdale, Pa.) collected 11 kills while Derek Fowler (Williamstown, N.J.) racked up seven kills, six total blocks, and five digs on the night. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) dished out 42 assists to go with nine digs and three service aces.
The visitors netted a pair of 25-17 decisions to build up a 2-0 lead in the match.
Pine Manor edged Eastern Nazarene 26-24 in a closely-contested third set to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Lions secured their 10th victory of the season with a 25-20 triumph in the fourth frame.
Dion Johnson registered a double-double for the Gators with 13 digs and 10 kills on the night.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns home March 30 to square off against Lesley in a non-league clash.
