Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Pine Manor, 3-0
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team defeated Pine Manor 3-0 Thursday evening in inter-conference action.
The Lions improve to 6-6 on the year while the Gators slide to 5-5 overall.
Colin Fischer (Lansdale, Pa.) notched a season-best 13 kills and added a pair of blocks. Derek Fowler (Williamstown, N.J.) posted 10 kills and two blocks in the match. Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) finished with seven kills while Andrew Jayne (Quincy, Mass.) added a team-high eight digs. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) dished out 38 assists on the night.
The visitors narrowly prevailed in the opening set 29-27 to grab a 1-0 advantage.
Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 25-10 victory in the second game to double its lead to 2-0.
The Lions edged the hosts 25-23 in the third frame to clinch their second win over Pine Manor this season.
Josh Williams paced the Gators with seven kills on the night.
