Men’s Volleyball Blanks Pine Manor, 3-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 non-conference victory over Pine Manor Wednesday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center to close out a string of seven-consecutive home matches.
The Lions improve to 4-3 on the year while the Gators sink to 4-4 overall with the result.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) recorded a team-high 15 kills on the night to go with nine digs and five service aces. Derek Fowler (Williamstown, N.J.) finished with 13 kills and six digs. Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) collected seven kills and seven digs. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) racked up 33 assists and five digs.
The home side notched a 25-17 win in the opening game to grab a 1-0 advantage.
After falling behind 15-12 in the second, Eastern Nazarene clawed back to edge Pine Manor 25-23 and extend its lead to 2-0.
The Lions prevailed 25-20 in the third set to seal the victory and snap a two-match skid.
Dion Johnson paced the visitors with eight kills while adding eight digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene hits the road for the first time this season as it heads to Southern Vermont March 4.
