Men’s Volleyball Downs Dean, 3-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team clinched a 3-0 non-conference victory over Dean Saturday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions improve to 3-1 on the season while the Bulldogs droop to 0-3 overall with the result.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) led the hosts with 12 kills, nine digs, three aces, and a pair of assists. Derek Fowler (Williamstown, N.J.) finished with 11 kills while James Garofalo (Commack, N.Y.) posted a career-high five kills. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) dished out 31 assists and added five digs and four aces on the night.
Eastern Nazarene captured a 25-15 win in the opening set to seize a 1-0 lead in the match.
After a back-and-forth start to the second frame, the Lions carved out a 14-9 advantage. The home side doubled its lead to 2-0 with a 25-19 decision in the second game.
Eastern Nazarene prevailed 25-11 in the third set to lock up its second consecutive victory.
Moussa Seck paced Dean with three kills while Gabriel McClain recorded 10 digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns to action February 11 to host four-time defending NECC Champion Endicott.
