Men’s Volleyball Deals 19 Aces in 3-0 Win Over Lesley
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Lesley Tuesday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions improve to 2-1 on the season and 2-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference. The Lynx sink to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in league action with the result.
Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) finished with a match-high 13 kills to go with eight digs and five aces. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) posted 27 assists, six digs, four service aces, and four kills on the night. Derek Fowler (Williamstown, N.J.) notched four kills and a pair of solo blocks while Andrew Shaw (Weymouth, Mass.) chipped in with eight digs, three aces, and three kills.
The home side racked up 11 kills and dealt seven aces in the first set to collect a 25-11 win.
Eastern Nazarene served up eight aces and tallied 10 kills en route to a 25-12 victory in the second frame.
The Lions closed out the straight-set win with a 25-13 decision in the third game.
Jason Hulteed paced Lesley with five kills while Karuna Chiemruom added seven assists.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns to action February 4 for a Saturday night showdown against Dean at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
