Men’s Volleyball Falls to Elms Saturday, 3-1
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team endured a 3-1 loss to Elms Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions move to 1-1 on the year and 1-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the result. The Blazers improve to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in league play this season.
Derek Fowler (Williamstown, N.J.) paced the home side with 12 kills while adding three total blocks. Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) posted his second straight double-double, finishing with 14 digs and 10 kills. Colin Fischer (Lansdale, Pa.) chipped in with six kills and four digs. Matthew Tyree (Lansdale, Pa.) registered 26 assists and five digs in the match.
Elms established a 1-0 lead with a 25-15 victory in the first set.
The Blazers stretched their advantage to 2-0 after prevailing 25-18 in the second game.
Eastern Nazarene battled back to claim the third frame 25-20 and trim the deficit to 2-1.
The visitors locked up the win with a 25-12 decision in the fourth set.
Gabriel Reis Levy, Daniel Bondarovsky, Austin DeCosmo, and Qua'Sean Crowe all notched seven kills on the day for Elms.
