Men’s Track & Field Impresses at MIT Sean Collier Invitational
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's track and field team competed in their fifth meet of the season at the Sean Collier Invitational at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Saturday.
The Lions were represented by ten student-athletes at the meet.
The 4x100-meter relay team assembled by Ralph Tima (Lakeland, Fla.), Travelis Mosley (Pompano Beach, Fla.), Jaeden Ortiz (Deltona, Fla.), and Shawn Wright (Baltimore, Md.) set a new school record at 44.60 seconds, which earned a third-place finish at the meet.
Mosley collected a second-place finish in both the 100-meter dash at 11.10 seconds and the 200-meter run at 22.70 seconds, surpassing his times from last week for new personal-bests.
Wright competed in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter run, and high jump at the meet. Wright earned a ninth-place finish in both the 100-meters at 11.59 seconds and the 200-meters at 23.55 seconds, each are personal-bests.
Tima also ran in the 100-meters and 200-meters. He finished tenth in the 100-meters at a personal-best 11.68 meters and eighth in the 200-meters at a personal-best 23.47 seconds.
Israel Tetuan-Chavez (Selma, Calif.) hurled his longest throw of the season in the shot put at 9.62 meters, while also participating in the discus throw.
Matthew Mansaray (Acushnet, Mass.) posted a personal-best in the 1,500-meters at 5:36.44. Mansaray also ran in the 800-meters.
Kevin Rodrigues (Dorchester, Mass.) and Robert Gorman (Ellington, Conn.) represented the Lions in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs, while Ortiz and Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.) ran in the 400-meters for Eastern Nazarene.
Joel Piercey (Randolph, Mass.) sprinted in the 110-meter hurdles for the Lions.
Eastern Nazarene returns to action April 28 to compete in the New England Collegiate Conference Championships hosted by Regis College.
