Men’s Track & Field Records Personal Bests at Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Relays
MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's track and field team competed in the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Relays Saturday.
Eastern Nazarene placed sixteenth out of twenty-three colleges that competed at the meet.
In their fourth meet of the season, the Lions were represented by twelve student-athletes.
Travelis Mosley (Pompano Beach, Fla) claimed a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash final at 11.34 seconds. He ran a personal-best 11.25 seconds in the preliminary heat. Shawn Wright (Baltimore, Md.) and Ralph Tima (Lakeland, Fla.) also competed in the 100-meter dash for the Lions.
Wright ran in the 200-meter to set a new personal-best at 23.58 seconds. Tima joined him in competing in the 200-meter run.
A new school record was set by Mosley, Tima, Wright, and Harry Juene (Fort Pierce, Fla.) in the 4x100 meter relay at 44.92 seconds. Juene also ran in the 200 meters for Eastern Nazarene.
Joel Piercey (Randolph, Mass.) recorded a new personal-best in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.06 seconds, while also competing in the 400-meter hurdles for the Lions.
Kevin Rodrigues (Dorchester, Mass.) surpassed his time from last week's meet to set a new personal-best in the 800 meters at 2:10.79. Rodrigues ran in the 1 mile as well.
Israel Tetuan-Chavez (Selma, Calif.) exceeded his throw from last week's meet in the discus throw to post a personal-best at 26.64 meters. Tetuan-Chavez also threw in the shot put for Eastern Nazarene.
In his first meet for the Lions, Jaeden Ortiz (Deltona, Fla.) ran in the 400-meters. Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.) also participated in the 400-meter run.
Robert Gorman (Ellington, Conn.), Joseph Merrigan (Quincy, Mass.), and Matthew Mansaray (Acushnet, Mass.) each represented the Lions in both the 1 mile and the 800-meter run.
Eastern Connecticut State grabbed first-place at the meet with a total of 86 points.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene heads to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to compete in the Sean Collier Memorial Invitational April 20.
