Men’s Track & Field Begins Season at Bridgewater State Invitational
BRIDGEWATER, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's track and field team competed in its first meet of the season at the Bridgewater State Invitational Saturday.
The Lions were represented by 10 student-athletes.
Shawn Wright (Baltimore, Md.) and Jaeden Ortiz (Deltona, Fla.) each competed in the 100 meter dash, crossing the finish line at 12.32 seconds and 12.69 seconds, respectively.
Kevin Rodrigues (Dorchester, Mass.), Robert Gorman (Ellington, Conn.), Joseph Merrigan (Quincy, Mass.), and Matthew Mansaray (Acushnet, Mass.) all competed in the 1,500 meter run for the Lions.
Rodrigues and Gorman also ran in the 4x400 meter relay with freshmen Joel Piercey (Randolph, Mass.) and Travelis Mosley (Pompano Beach, Fla.).
Kevin Rop (Silver Spring, Md.) and Israel Tetuan-Chavez (Selma, Calif.) also competed for Eastern Nazarene at the meet.
Bridgewater State amassed 110 points to secure the first place finish among the 18 teams that competed in the meet.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic March 30.
