Men’s Track & Field Contends at CCC Invitational
PORTSMOUTH, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's track and field team racked up six top-10 individual finishes en route to posting a fourth-place finish in the team standings at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Invitational hosted by Roger Williams University Saturday.
Roger Williams captured the team title while Nichols placed second and Gordon finished third.
Paul Chong (Reading, Mass.) claimed first place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.60 seconds.
Linton Moore (Sanford, Fla.) placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.53 meters. Robbion Harris (Steilacoom, Wash.) and Quinn Smith (Galway, N.Y.) each registered new personal-records in the long jump at the meet as Harris earned 12th and Smith finished 13th.
Harris notched a fourth-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a personal-best time of 23.57 seconds while Kevin Rodrigues (Dorchester, Mass.) also established a new personal-record in the event. Harris also captured fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.97 seconds.
Stephen Ingersoll (Newark, N.J.) and Bryan Vassar (Worcester, Mass.) set personal-best times in the 800 meter run to place in the top-20.
Smith added a personal-record in the discus throw with a heave of 25.55 meters to place 14th.
Tajere Folk (Lancaster, Pa.) posted a personal-best throw in the shot put with a mark of 9.37 meters to claim 11th place.
Kevin Rop (Silver Springs, Md.) finished sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.87 seconds.
The Lions' 4x100 meter relay team combined to record a time of 45.73 seconds to earn third.
