Dmitrii Semenov Named GNAC Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass.- Freshman Dmitrii Semenov (Kaliningrad, Russia) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team has been tabbed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, announced the league office Monday.

Semenov earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at the top singles position and partnered with Carlos Gallardo (Tulua, Colombia) to posted an 8-3 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot as the Lions topped Colby-Sawyer 8-1.

This spring, he boasts a 10-5 mark in singles play and an 8-8 record in doubles matches.

Eastern Nazarene boasts a 10-7 overall record and finished the GNAC regular season slate with an unblemished 4-0 mark to clinch the No. 1 seed in the GNAC Tournament.

Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene return to the courts April 16 face Suffolk in a non-league tilt.
