NCAA Preview: Eastern Nazarene to Face Yeshiva in NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament Thursday

QUINCY, Mass.- After claiming the program's first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship, the Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team will battle Yeshiva in its first NCAA Tournament match Thursday at 12pm at Bowdoin's Pickard Tennis Courts in Brunswick, Maine.
Thursday's match will mark the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

ROAD TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
Eastern Nazarene sports a 16-7 overall record and finished the regular season with a 5-0 mark in the GNAC. The Lions dethroned six-time defending champion Ramapo 5-0 in the GNAC Tournament finals to capture the program's first-ever conference title and to punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
Yeshiva enters the NCAA Tournament with a 14-7 record. The Maccabees claimed their sixth-straight Skyline Conference championship with a 5-3 win over Farmingdale State.
DYNAMIC DUOS:
Eastern Nazarene's No. 1 doubles pair of Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) and Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) boast a 9-2 record on the spring. The Lions' No. 2 tandem of Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Tim Schoengens (Inden, Germany) have combined for a 13-3 doubles record this season.
D3 STREAK:
The Lions have notched nine-consecutive victories over NCAA Division III opponents. Eastern Nazarene's last loss to a Division III foe came on March 28 at Coast Guard, a 6-3 decision.
ALL-TOURNAMENT ACCOLADES:
After capturing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament crown, Eastern Nazarene junior Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) was named the GNAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) joined Siercke on the GNAC All-Tournament team.
SCOUTING YESHIVA:
The Maccabees posted a 14-7 record on the year and finished with a 7-0 mark in the Skyline Conference. Yeshiva will be making its sixth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Maccabees are led by All-Skyline Conference first team selection Aaron Cohen with 13 singles wins and 10 doubles victories. All-Skyline Conference first team honoree Lior Brik has netted 11 wins in singles and doubles play on the year.
Last spring, Yeshiva defeated Ramapo 5-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to 2018 national runner-up Bowdoin in the second round.
