Men’s Tennis Falters at Division II Franklin Pierce
RINDGE, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 setback at NCAA Division II foe Franklin Pierce Thursday.
The Lions dip to 12-7 on the year with the result while the Ravens improve to 9-6 overall.
The home team captured the doubles point with three wins in doubles play.
Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) and Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) fell 6-1 at the No. 1 doubles position to Roberto Chong and Nkrumah Patrick.
Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Tim Schoengens (Inden, Germany) dropped a 6-2 decision at the No. 2 spot to Preston Gordon and Yuval Barak.
Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) and Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) absorbed a 6-2 loss to Andrew Schadt and Marcus Lawrence at the third doubles slot.
Franklin Pierce tallied six singles victories to snap a three-match skid.
Siercke endured a 6-3, 7-6 loss to Chong at the top singles position while Opaschowski suffered a 6-2, 7-5 setback at the No. 2 slot to Gordon.
Rodriguez fell 6-2, 6-1 to Patrick at the third spot and Schoengens dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at the No. 4 position to Barak.
Pierson absorbed a 6-2, 6-1 loss to Schadt in the fifth singles match. Jesus Lucart (Wyile, Texas) fell 7-6, 6-0 at the No. 6 slot against Lawrence.
