Men’s Tennis Sweeps Suffolk on Senior Day
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team stretched its winning-streak to four matches with a 9-0 victory over Suffolk Saturday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions climb to 11-6 on the year and 3-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with the win. The Rams slide to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in league competition with the result.
Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) and Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) notched an 8-1 win over Chris Parnagian and Rami Eswari at the top doubles spot.
Tim Schoengens (Inden, Germany) and Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) cruised past Nick Vaillancourt and Davis Altimonte 8-0 at the No. 2 position.
Senior Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) posted an 8-3 victory at the third slot over Ben Bricker and Charles Tang.
Siercke rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Parnagian at the No. 1 doubles position while Opaschowski coasted past Vaillancourt 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot.
Rodriguez blanked Eswari 6-0, 6-0 at the third singles match and Schoengens earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Altimonte at the No. 4 slot.
Pierson secured a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the fifth position over Hasan Eswari.
Campbell collected a 6-2, 6-1 win over David Gruijic at the No. 6 spot.
