Men’s Tennis Bests Bridgewater State 9-0 in Regular-Season Finale
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a 9-0 victory over Bridgewater State Saturday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions improve to 16-3 on the season with the win while the Bears fall to 1-8 overall.
Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) and Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela) rolled past Justin Haley and Zachary Mutti 8-0 at the top doubles position.
Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) cruised to an 8-0 win at the No. 2 spot over Michael Scollins and Joshua Bean.
Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) topped Ross Bloomfield and Dan O'Malley 8-1 at the third slot.
Camero clinched a 6-2, 6-0 win over Haley in his first action at the top singles spot this season.
Opaschowski rattled off his eighth-straight singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 decision at the No. 2 slot against Scollins.
Pierson posted his team-leading 14th singles win of the year with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over O'Malley at the No. 3 position.
Swarr blanked Mutti 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot to notch his 10th victory in singles competition.
Campbell coasted past Bean 6-0, 6-0 at the fifth singles slot to collect his second-straight win.
Corey Davis (Derby, Vt.) clipped Bloomfield 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot to secure his first singles victory of the season.
Looking ahead, second-seeded Eastern Nazarene will host No. 3 seed Roger Williams in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament May 2.
