Men’s Tennis Sails Past Salve Regina, 9-0
NEWPORT, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory at Salve Regina Saturday afternoon.
The Lions improve to 13-3 on the season and 5-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the win. The Seahawks fall to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in league action.
Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) and Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) topped Kevin Brocks and DJ Bisaillon 8-2 at the No. 1 doubles position.
Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) downed Will Chasse and Trevor Jones 8-1 at the second spot.
Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela) and Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) notched an 8-2 win at the third slot against Will Masse and Aaron White.
Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) defeated Masse 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles spot.
Camero cruised past Bisaillon 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 slot while Opaschoski blanked Kevin Hunt 6-0, 6-0 at the third position.
Pierson posted his team-leading 12th singles victory with a 6-1, 6-1 decision at the No. 4 spot against Jones.
Swarr breezed by Chasse 6-0, 6-3 at the fifth slot while Campbell collected a 6-3, 6-0 win at the No. 6 position over Zach Monahan.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene travels to Endicott April 18.
