Men’s Tennis Registers 6-3 Win at Roger Williams
BRISTOL, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team netted a crucial 6-3 victory at Roger Williams Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions climb to 10-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the win. The Hawks fall to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in league action with the result.
The visitors collected a pair of doubles victories to grab a 2-1 edge.
Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) coasted past Grant Rosenberg and Nick Spoor 8-0 at the top doubles spot.
Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) downed Jake Cole and Thomas O'Leary 8-2 at the No. 3 position.
Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) dropped an 8-6 decision at the second slot to Brendan White and Jared Deibe.
Eastern Nazarene notched wins at the top four singles positions to capture its 10th victory of the year.
Partyka rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 1 singles match against White. Siercke posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Rosenberg at the second spot to earn his team-leading ninth singles win.
Ruttkowski prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at the third position against Spoor to record his ninth singles victory of the year. Opaschowski topped Cole 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 4 slot.
Pierson and Swarr suffered straight-set losses at the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
