Men’s Tennis Caps Off Spring Break with 7-2 Win over Lynchburg
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team downed Lynchburg 7-2 Friday in its final match in the Palmetto State.
The Lions improve to 8-1 on the year with the victory while the Hornets fall to 4-5 overall.
Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) topped Bryce Barber and Will Nsoesie 8-3 at the top doubles position.
Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) cruised to an 8-1 win at the No. 2 spot over Nick Savino and Zack Shane.
Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela) and Kyle Pierson (Reading, Calif.) notched an 8-4 victory at the No. 3 slot over Colton Mullins and Luke Sablik.
Partyka posted a 7-5, 6-3 win at the No. 1 singles position against Sablik. Siercke netted a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the second slot over Nsoesie.
Camero coasted by Savino 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot and Opaschowski collected a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the fifth position against Mullins.
Ruttkowski fell 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 3 position against Barber. Corey Davis (Derby, Vt.) suffered a 6-3, 6-4 setback to Brad Carson at the sixth slot.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will host non-conference foe Salem State March 22.
