Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Fall with 8-1 Victory at UMass-Dartmouth
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team closed out the fall slate with a 8-1 win at UMass-Dartmouth Tuesday.
The Lions improve to 4-0 on the year with the victory while the Corsairs fall to 0-2 overall.
Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) picked up an 8-3 win over Patrick Pacheco and Anthony Joseph at the top spot.
Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) and Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela) downed Tristan Viale and Eli Brooks at the No. 2 position 8-4.
Kyle Pierson (Reading, Calif.) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) topped Leon Xiong and Zach Pavao 8-3 at the third slot.
Siercke earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 singles position over Pacheco and Ruttkowski notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at the second spot against Viale.
Camero cruised past Joseph 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 slot while Pierson rolled by Brooks 6-2, 6-0 at the fourth position and Swarr defeated Xiong 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth singles match.
Corey Davis (Derby, Vt.) dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision at the No. 6 spot to Pavao.
Eastern Nazarene will resume play in the spring as it heads to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for its annual spring break trip March 5-9.
