Men’s Tennis Pushes Winning-Streak to Five with 9-0 Victory Over Wentworth
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team picked up its fifth win in a row Tuesday afternoon, blanking Wentworth 9-0 at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions improve to 12-2 on the year and 4-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the victory. The Leopards sink to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in league matches with the result.
Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) topped Matthew Smith and Jeff Tocco 8-4 at the No. 1 doubles position.
Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela) and Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) rolled past Seng Ly and Zach Peter 8-1 at the second spot.
Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and Davis Steelman (Darlington, Md.) bested Thinh Dang and Alex Mularski 8-4 at the No. 3 slot.
Partyka notched a straight-sets win at the top singles position over Smith, 6-2, 6-4.
Siercke cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Tocco at the No. 2 slot while Camero rolled past Ly 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 singles match and Pierson defeated Peter 6-3, 6-2 at the fourth spot.
Steelman collected his 16th-consecutive singles victory with a 6-0, 6-0 decision at the No. 5 position against Dang to improve to 14-0 on the year.
Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No. 6 singles slot to complete the sweep.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene looks to remain unbeaten in conference action with a home match April 19 against Endicott.
