Henry Siercke Earns CCC Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week Honors
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Freshman Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team picked up his first career Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week nod, announced the league office Monday.
Siercke posted a 4-0 combined record as the Lions breezed by Salve Regina and Western New England.
In Eastern Nazarene's 9-0 victory over Salve Regina, Siercke notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 2 singles position and teamed up with Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) to claim an 8-0 victory at the top doubles spot.
Siercke collected a 6-1, 6-2 decision at the No. 2 singles slot and partnered with Partyka to prevail 8-1 at the No. 1 doubles position as the Lions rolled past Western New England 9-0.
This season, Siercke has accrued a 7-2 record in singles action and an 8-3 mark in doubles competition.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 10-2 overall record with a 2-0 league mark on the year.
Up next, the Lions return home to host Roger Williams in a key conference matchup April 11.
