Men’s Tennis Blanks Becker 9-0 in Non-Conference Action
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team breezed by Becker 9-0 in a non-league clash Monday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions elevate to 8-2 on the year while the Hawks flutter to 2-1 overall with the outcome.
Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and Davis Steelman (Darlington, Md.) rolled to an 8-1 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot over Connor Allison and Aaron Peterson.
Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) prevailed 8-2 over Throngpol Chinpanjap and Thomas Lanphear at the No. 2 position.
Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Yahalel Carter (Chicago, Ill.) swept Alex Kielczewski and Edward Seol at the No. 3 slot, 8-0.
Playing at the No. 1 singles position for the first time in his career, Steelman topped Peterson 6-1, 6-0 to improve to 10-0 on the year in singles play.
Pierson claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the second singles slot over Chinpanjap and Swarr earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Allison at the No. 3 spot.
Campbell cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Lanphear at the No. 4 position and Biondi rolled past Seol at the fifth slot 6-0, 6-1.
Corey Davis (Derby, Vt.) collected a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 6 singles match in his collegiate debut.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns to the courts April 6 to host Nichols in a key conference showdown.
