Men’s Tennis Breezes By UMass-Dartmouth, 9-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over UMass-Dartmouth in its final match of the fall season Monday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions improve to 3-1 overall while the Corsairs drop to 0-2 on the year.
Santiago Camero (Toronto, Ontario) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) rolled to an 8-0 win at the No. 1 position over Corey Rafter and Anthony Joseph.
Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) and Davis Steelman (Darlington, Md.) blanked Summer Forest-Bulley and Patrick Pacheco 8-0 at the second spot.
Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) notched an 8-2 victory over Trent Butler and Justin Torres at the third slot.
Ruttkowski picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the top singles position over Rafter. Siercke collected a 6-0, 6-1 win over Joseph at the second singles match.
Camero topped Forest-Bulley 6-0, 6-1 at the third spot while Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) eased by Pacheco at the No. 4 position 6-0, 6-0.
Steelman remained undefeated in singles action this season with his fourth-consecutive victory, downing Butler 6-0, 6-0 at the fifth slot.
Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) secured a 7-6, 6-1 win over Torres in the No. 6 singles match.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to action March 6-10 as it travels to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for its annual spring break training trip.
